The Rituale Romanum required in 1614 the additional maintenance of confirmation and death registers. In Protestant regions, the introduction of church records followed the church ordinances during the Reformation.  <\/p><p style=\"font-size:17px;line-height:1.75;color:#3A3128;margin-bottom:18px\">Numerous church records have been lost\u2014through fire disasters and the turmoil of war.
