Valendas to form the new political municipality of <em>Safiental<\/em>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d134af elementor-widget The Romansh word <em>\u201cbagnaduoira\u201d<\/em> means <em>\u201cwash tub,\u201d \u201cbasin,\u201d or \u201ctrough\u201d<\/em> and refers to the depression present in the terrain. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 35px;\">When the Walser people moved into this area from Safien \u2014 approximately in the second half of the 14th and 15th centuries \u2014 the local Romansh population was increasingly displaced. The name of the farm remained unchanged \u2014 but now Walsers lived there, \u201cthose from Bandur,\u201d the Banadurers.   <\/p>\nWhether the Romansh inhabitants of Bandur mixed with the newly arrived Walsers or were displaced by them cannot be proven.
