From a little rascal\nto an elder statesman.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A<\/span>s the second child alongside my brother Peter, I was born on November 19, 1949<\/strong>, in Glarus<\/em>. I grew up there, attended school, and completed an apprenticeship as an electromechanic<\/em>. At age 22, I moved to Bern, where I continued my professional education to become a technical merchant<\/em>. <\/p>

At Hasler AG<\/strong> in Bern, I started my first sales position. At PTT<\/strong> and BIGA (SECO)<\/strong>, I helped set up the 111 telephone service and the intercantonal job placement system AVAM<\/em>. Afterward, I was drawn back to the private sector \u2014 Olivetti, Excom, Dell Computer, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Distrelec, Nextink, and McAfee (Intel)<\/em> were interesting milestones in a long IT career. <\/p>

After 33 years in the beautiful farming village of Hettiswil near Hindelbank<\/em>, I moved closer to home and have lived in 8722 Kaltbrunn<\/strong> since November 2012. I have two daughters, Nicole<\/strong> (1977) and Nadja<\/strong> (1980), who both live in Bern. My brother Peter and my mother passed away in 2011 and found their final resting place in the cemetery in Zillis (Graub\u00fcnden)<\/em>. <\/p>

September 19, 2019 \u00b7 Tennis court<\/strong>Cardiac arrest \u2014 and a second life.<\/blockquote>

I simply collapsed without warning \u2014 my heart had stopped beating. Thanks to my tennis friends, I was resuscitated immediately; the defibrillator needed one more shock. By REGA to St. Gallen, then to the University Hospital Zurich (3 bypasses). Rehab in Davos \u2014 and back home. Sincere thanks to Peter, Armin, Ernst, Heidi, and Adrian<\/em> \u2014 you gave me a second life. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
