Family tree of the Bonadurers.
Documented since 1325 in Versam (Graubünden) — the oldest known mention: Jacobus de Banaduyr. The reconstruction of the complete family tree is still in progress.
The name through the centuries.
Over almost five centuries, the spelling of the name changed from Banaduyr to Panadurer and Banadurer, to today’s form Bonadurer. What all variants have in common is their origin in the Romansh bagnaduoira — “the wet one,” a field name.
For the complete reconstruction of the family tree, Roland Bonadurer is seeking further documents and information from the family.

Martin Bonadurer & Gretta Fravi.
Peter Michael wrote on February 3, 2003:
“Martin Bonadurer, baptised in Versam on 29/09/1825, is the illegitimate son of Sabina Bonadurer, née Stoffel. His father cannot be determined with absolute certainty — in theory, two Martin Bonadurers could be considered as fathers: Martin born in 1763 and Martin born in 1800.”
Master Martin married Gretta / Margreth Fravi of Farden in 1860 and took up residence in Zillis. The family had eight children — all born in Zillis.
